Niagara University warns students after relative of student displays firearm on campus property

LEWISTON, N.Y. (WKBW) — Niagara University sent out a warning to students Wednesday morning after someone brandished a firearm on campus property.

Emergency alerts were sent out via text and e-mail between 6:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. following what police said was an argument that turned physical. It happened inside one of the Varsity Village houses.

University officials said a man, who is a relative of a resident, showed up and displayed a firearm before leaving campus. His wherabouts are currently unknown. Campus Safety and law enforcement are looking for the man. His name or photo have yet to be released. He was described as a middle-aged male driving an SUV.
