Niagara Falls teen arrested, facing charges for alleged rape in Lewiston

TOWN OF LEWISTON, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Lewiston Police Department says a Niagara falls teen has been arrested and is facing charges for an alleged rape in the Town of Lewiston.

According to police, on October 25 a 16-year-old girl reported she was sexually assaulted, forcibly against her will inside a vehicle on Albright Road in Lewiston.

On October 27, police say 18-year-old Dominic V. Schmidt of Niagara Falls was taken into custody and charged with rape in the first degree, rape in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

Officials say Schmidt was arraigned in Niagara County Court and remanded to the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $100,000/$200,000 bail.
