NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — Niagara Falls police say a man faces multiple charges following a crash at the intersection of Main Street and Niagara Avenue around 5 p.m. Saturday.
According to police, a 51-year-old Niagara Falls man was traveling north on Main Street making a left hand turn onto Niagara Avenue when he struck the vehicle of a 78-year-old Lewiston woman traveling south on Main Street.
The 78-year-old woman was taken to ECMC where she was in critical condition Saturday.
Police say the 51-year-old man was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center to be evaluated, while there he was screened by a NFPD Drug Recognition Expert. Following an evaluation he was charged with DWAI drugs, vehicular assault, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to yield right of way on a left hand turn.
The investigation is ongoing at this time. No update on the woman's condition is available at this time.
