NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — A former Executive Assistant to the Niagara Falls City Council is charged with computer trespass and computer tampering and petit larceny.

Police say after Mark Diodate submitted his two-week notice to end his employment, he allegedly came to City Hall after working hours. Investigators say Diodate logged into the payroll system and added several hours to his time sheet in hopes of giving himself a little extra cash in his paycheck.

Diodate was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. He will be back in court in September.
