NIAGARA COUNTY (WKBW) — The Niagara County SPCA says it is caring for a young pit bull that was brought in first thing Tuesday morning by the Niagara Falls Animal Control officer.

The SPCA says the female pit bull is emaciated, wounded and covered in fleas. They have decided to name her "Christmas."

"All Christmas wants is love. You can definitely tell she hasn’t been shown it before. We promise to take care of you sweet girl and we are so sorry for what you’ve been through," a post from the Niagara County SPCA Facebook page says.

The SPCA also announced Tuesday the puppy named Hemi that was rescued Monday will be adopted by the officer that helped rescue him.
