NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Niagara County SPCA is asking for your help on 'National Make A Dog's Day' Thursday.

The SPCA is looking for toy and treat donations for their shelter dogs.

“Our shelter dogs have been through so much and as they patiently wait for their forever homes we invite everyone to take this opportunity on ‘National Make A Dog’s Day’ to show them how special we think they are,” said Kimberly LaRussa, Director of Community Engagement at Niagara County SPCA.

In addition to toys and treats, the SPCA is asking for beds, blankets, harnesses, and leashes.

If you're looking to donate treats but don't have anything specifically in mind, the SPCA says you should donate mozzarella string cheese as that's what the dogs love!

The shelter is open from noon to 6 p.m. on Thursday, but will begin accepting donations as early as 9 a.m. at 2100 Lockport Road in Niagara Falls.

You can make a donation on Venmo: @Niagara-SPCA and PayPal: donate@niagaraspca.org.
