BUFFALO, N.Y. — Niagara County residents who rent out their home or room with Airbnb made an average of $11,300 in 2018, according to Airbnb.

That was the most in Western New York. Here are the numbers for Erie, Cattaraugus, Allegany, and Chautauqua counties:

- Erie - $8,000
- Cattaraugus - $7,100
- Chautauqua - $3,400
- Allegany - $2,100

Joseph Galvin said this has been the most successful year since he started doing Airbnb three years ago.

"I'm making more renting it out as an Airbnb than I was when it was just an apartment."

In total, there are around 1,200 hosts in Western New York making $12.3 million.

Airbnb takes up to 20% in service fees.
