NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Niagara County Corrections Officer is now under arrest, accused of Tampering with Public Records.
52-year-old Alexandra Matalavage is now facing five counts of Tampering with Public Records in the first degree, a Class D Felony.
According to investigators, her arrest stems from an investigation into incidents that occurred at the Niagara County Correctional Facility while Officer Matalavage was working. The incidents, according to the Sheriff's Office, came to light after reviews of inmate supervisory rounds were conducted.
Officer Matalavage was arraigned and released on her own recognizance. She's due back in Town of Lockport Court on October 1 and has been placed on suspension pending a departmental hearing.
