BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Pennsylvania man is facing felony charges after authorities say he tried to bring a hand gun onto a plane at the Buffalo airport.
Transit Police say 53-year-old Thomas Pearson was planning to travel from Buffalo to Philadelphia Tuesday when TSA agents discovered the gun in his luggage. Investigators say Pearson didn't have a pistol permit for the hand gun.
Pearson is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a class E felony. If convicted, he faces up to four years in prison.
Transit Police want to remind travelers that passengers are not allowed to bring guns onto airplanes in carry-on bags, even if they have concealed firearm permits.
Anyone who brings a firearm to TSA checkpoints will be subject to possible criminal charges.
