GREECE, N.Y. (WKBW) — New York State Police say the AMBER Alert for two siblings in Monroe County has been canceled after they were found safe.

Police in the Town of Greece reported Shekeria and Dimitri Cash missing late Monday night.

During a news conference on Wednesday, Greece police say the children were found in Montgomery, Ala. and will be relocated to a safer environment.

According to police, information related to a vehicle rented in the Rochester area led investigators to a location in Alabama.

Authorities in Alabama witnessed a woman leaving the location and conducted a traffic stop. Police then found the children inside the vehicle, on the floorboard in the back seat and under blankets.

Police in Greece say one woman is in custody but her identity is not being released at this time.

"While this is the best outcome that we could ask for in this investigation, it is far from over," says Greece Police Chief Andrew Forsythe. "Every person responsible for this abduction will be sought and apprehended."
