Narcotics Anonymous to resume in-person meetings

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Narcotics Anonymous will resume in-person meetings in Western New York starting this weekend.

In-person meetings were suspended at the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March.

According to Narcotics Anonymous, overdoses have skyrocketed locally, over the past few months in Western New York.

Erie County announced an 82 percent increase in overdose deaths.

Additionally, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of New York James P. Kennedy says, as of mid-May overdose deaths were up by 305 percent compared to the first two months of 2020.
