Multiple weapons, hundreds of rounds of ammunition seized at Peace Bridge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) says an Ohio man who allegedly made a wrong turn was arrested at the Peace Bridge with multiple weapons and hundreds of rounds of ammunition in his vehicle.

CBP says the 33-year-old Parma Heights, Ohio man made a wrong turn onto the Peace Bridge, traveled across to Canada and turned around and came back to the United States.

According to CBP, the Ohio man did not have a passport and upon secondary inspection he only declared a .45 caliber Glock handgun.

A search was conducted and also found in his vehicle were:

  • 799 rounds of 9 mm ammunition
  • AR-15 model PA-15 semi-automatic rifle
  • 76 rounds of .223 ammunition
  • 30-round capacity magazine
  • two 17-round Glock magazines

The Ohio man was turned over to New York State police, he faces charges for criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.
