NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — Niagara Falls police say a mother and her son are dead after an assault around 6:30 Thursday morning on the 3100 block of 9th Street.
Officers arrived to the scene and found 60-year-old Sonia Hamilton on the sidewalk seriously injured and bleeding heavily, police say she sustained several stab wounds.
As officers were administering lifesaving care to Hamilton, police say other officers entered a nearby home and located a second victim.
The second victim, Hamilton's son 32-year-old Brian Harris, sustained fatal injuries including a gunshot wound.
Hamilton was transported to ECMC for treatment, police say she died Thursday evening as a result of her injuries.
Police say no one has been charged with the two murders, but a person of interest is in custody on unrelated charges.
