THE BODY OF A 20-YEAR-OLD WAS DISCOVERED BY FIRST RESPONDERS WHO HAD BEEN SEARCHING FOR HIM ON SUNDAY. — A Mansfield man who was reported missing Saturday was found dead a day later by first responders who had been looking for him.
20-year-old Joseph Rushwin was reported missing from the Barse Road area to authorities around 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, he was go-karting, and when he didn’t return, his family called to report him missing.
Deputies said local fire departments, New York State Police, New York State Forest Rangers and other agencies all performed an exhaustive search for Rushwin, including using drones, and helicopters.
Ultimately, investigators spotted tire tracks leading into a nearby pond, and his body was discovered soon after.
