MAYVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) — 3 adults have been arrested after allegedly exposing kids to several illegal drugs, some of them stashed in a diaper bag.
During a warrant check at a home in the Village of Mayville, Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies saw a vehicle pull into the driveway. Investigators say they saw one of the passengers of the car, Sarah E Johnson, 40, hide something behind one of the 2 children that were in the back of the vehicle.
At further inspection, deputies saw a pipe used for smoking methamphetamines sicking out of a diaper bag as well as marijuana, all within reach of the children.
A search of the car allegedly also yielded a large sum of cash, three scales, plastic bag packaging material, Clonazepam pills, multiple containers of methamphetamine, and multiple hypodermic needles.
Kristen Nelson, 38, who is related to the children, has been charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd and operation with a back seat passenger less than four years old without a child seat.
The 2 adult passengers, Sarah E Johnson and Richard Philbrick, 33, have been also been charged with various drug related offenses.
CPS has placed the 2 children with a relative of Nelson.
