Garage fire in Amherst causes nearly $400,000 in damage

AMHERST, N.Y. (WKBW) — A fire at an attached garage in Amherst caused nearly $400,000 in damage, Thursday night.

Authorities say they were called to a home at 262 Willow Ridge Drive, just after 8:30 p.m., Thursday.

The homeowner reported a fire that started in the attached garage was spreading to the home.

Crews were able to control the fire by around 9:30 p.m.

Investigators say the fire also damaged 270 Willow Ridge Drive.

Officials say the fire caused a total of $370,000 in damage with $200,000 to the structure, $100,000 to the contents, $60,000 to the vehicle in the garage, and $10,000 to the second structure.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

It's unclear if anyone was hurt or displaced by the fire.
