Man steals $500,000 from Lockport business

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Niagara County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of a Lockport man for grand larceny in the second degree Wednesday.

The sheriff's office says 42-year-old Michael A. Szafran stole $500,000 from his employer, Hildreth Electric, located on Crown Drive in Lockport.

Szafran's arrest was the result of an eight month investigation.

He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
