BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo police have made an arrest after a man was shot in the head and killed on Shirley Avenue on Monday night.
Police said officers responded to the shooting on the 200 block of Shirley Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. Monday. Officers found a 33-year-old man shot in the head, and he was declared dead at the scene.
After a preliminary investigation, a suspect was identified and then apprehended. 24-year-old Jeremiah Henderson of Buffalo was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The Erie County District Attorney's Office said Henderson was arraigned on Tuesday and is scheduled to return on June 27 for a felony hearing. He was held without bail.
Henderson faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison if convicted of the highest charge.
