Man seriously hurt after being hit by snowplow

HANOVER, N.Y. (WKBW) — A man suffered serious injuries after being hit by a snowplow in Chautauqua County.

Sheriff's deputies said it happened Wednesday around 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of Routes 5 and 20 in the town of Hanover.

They said the 52-year-old Dunkirk man was walking west in the westbound driving lane when he was struck by a private snowplow.

The victim was transported to Lakeshore Hospital. His identity was not released and there have been no updates about his condition.

The driver of the snowplow was uninjured. He was not charged.

Deputies continue to investigate what happened.
