NIAGARA FALLS, CA (WKBW) — Niagara Police rescued a man in the Niagara River before he was swept over the Horseshoe Falls Wednesday, according to CBC.
Police said the man fell off his watercraft around 7 p.m. Wednesday and was found floating wearing a life jacket in restricted waters near the International Control Dam in Niagara Falls, Canada.
Officers were able to rescue the man using a safety line and a ladder, he was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His boat was recovered the next day after going over the falls.
A second person was seen operating a boat in the restricted waters but steered back to shore. Both were charged under the Canada Shipping Act.
