Man hospitalized after stabbing in Buffalo; suspect in custody

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — One man is hospitalized, and another is in police custody following a stabbing in Buffalo.

Authorities say 41-year-old Eric Frazier was attacked outside of an apartment on Main Street early Sunday morning. According to Buffalo Police, the victim was stabbed multiple times as he was trying to leave the defendant's apartment.

Police have charged 28-year-old Cody Lynch in connection with the stabbing. He has been charged with assault and aggravated harassment. Police say they recovered a knife on the sidewalk.

Frazier is being treated at ECMC and is expected to survive.

Police say the two men know each other.

7 Eyewitness News has learned through sources that both men worked as paramedics. A source says Lynch is a paramedic with Twin City Ambulance Group and Frazier with AMR.

AMR released the following statement to 7 Eyewitness News regarding Frazier:

“We are supporting our employee who was injured over the weekend. Our thoughts are with him for a speedy recovery. Out of respect and consideration for our team member and his family we respectfully ask for privacy during this time.”
