JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WKBW) — Police have found the vehicle involved in a weekend shooting in Jamestown. The dark colored sedan was found parked behind a condemned home on Broadhead Avenue.
Investigators tell us the victim is in critical condition after being shot several times during a drive-by shooting Saturday night.
Just before 11 p.m. Saturday officers responded to the area of Hazzard Street and Newland Avenue and located a man with multiple gunshot wounds laying in the street next to his vehicle.
Police say it is believed the victim was traveling in a vehicle on Hazzard Street when a second vehicle pulled up and fired multiple shots into the victims car and fled the scene.
The suspect was possibly driving a dark colored sedan according to police.
Police say a loaded pistol was recovered inside the victim's vehicle which is believed to have belonged to him.
The victim was transported to UPMC Chautauqua for surgery and then transported to UPMC Hamot where he is listed in critical condition.
This shooting is believed to be targeted and not a random act of violence according to police
