GENESEE FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Canaseraga man died and a Pennsylvania man was charged following a deadly accident in Wyoming County.
It happened around 5:30 a.m. on December 6 in Genesee Falls. Deputies say Jay Stedge, 31, of Pennsylvania didn't yield the right of way at a stop sign at the intersection of State Route 19A and Denton Corners Road. Stedge then hit a car driven by Dylan Halbert, 25, seriously injuring the man.
Mercy Flight transported Halbert to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he died on December 17.
Stedge was charged with failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign, driving without a license, driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and other violations. He was arraigned in the Town of Genesee Falls Court and is to return at a later date.
