CLARENCE, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Erie County Sheriff's Office is investigating a one-car crash that has left an Akron man dead.

Investigators say a vehicle driven by Caleb Nati, 23, was traveling on Shisler Road in Clarence on Saturday evening when the car left the road, struck a tree and a natural gas pipeline.

The crash caused a gas leak in the area which was addressed by utility workers while firefighters tended to Nati. Nati was taken to ECMC where he passed away from his injuries.

The crash is being investigated by the Sheriff’s Crash Investigation Unit, and a cause of the crash has not yet been determined.
