Man crashes into tree after refusing to stop for City of Tonawanda Police

CITY OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — The City of Tonawanda Police announced a Buffalo man faces multiple charges after refusing to stop for police Sunday morning.

Police say 44-year-old Ejay Corp refused to stop for police following a traffic violation on Niagara Street and led police through the city until he ultimately came to a stop when he went off the road and struck a tree in the park near the Erie Canal.

According to police, Corp tried to flee the scene following the crash but was stopped by officers.

Police say Corp had 25 suspensions on his license, which was revoked and canceled, and a crack pipe was found on the front seat.

Corp faces the following charges:

  • Failure to stop for a police officer
  • Reckless driving
  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance
  • Felony DWI
  • Numerous traffic charges
