Man charged with setting girlfriend on fire denied bail

(WKBW) — The person accused of setting a woman on fire during a domestic incident outside a Tim Hortons in the City of Tonawanda in December was denied bail in front of a judge Wednesday morning. Jonathon White was denied bail.

White is accused of luring his former girlfriend to a secluded area outside a Tim Hortons on Niagara Street. Detectives say White doused 25-year-old Jessica Cameron with an accelerant and set her on fire.

White has been charged with second degree attempted murder, first degree assault, arson, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and menacing, all in connection with the attack on his former girlfriend, 25-year-old Jessica Cameron.

The suspect was indicted by a grand jury. White remains in custody without bail.

A pre-trial hearing will be held on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 2 p.m.
