Man arrested for DWI following fatal West Seneca crash

WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WKBW) — West Seneca police have arrested the driver of the vehicle involved in a fatal one-car crash early Sunday morning for DWI.

Police responded to the area of 1720 Southwestern Boulevard for the report of unknown trouble just before 5:30 a.m.

Upon arrival a vehicle was found overturned about 50 yards off the road.

Police say it was determined there two males and two females in the vehicle, a female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the other three occupants were transported to ECMC with serious injuries.

After further investigation police say the male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated, officers obtained a court order for him to submit a blood test after he initially refused.

Police have not released the names of any of the occupants.

There is no update on the condition of the three occupants that were seriously injured.

There was no word on if any additional charges were pending.

The road was closed for several hours.
