WHEATFIELD, N.Y. (WKBW) — Niagara County Sheriff’s Deputies say a man is wanted for assaulting his ex-wife with his pickup truck. There is now a $2,500 reward for information leading to his arrest.

40-year-old Shane Hescox is wanted on several warrants, including assault and reckless endangerment for an incident that happened in Wheatfield Friday.

Shane’s ex-wife, Courtney Hescox tells 7 Eyewitness News she met up with Shane Friday in an effort to convince him to turn himself in on other warrants he had, when she says Hescox slammed on the gas and ran her over.

“I fell to the ground he brushed the top of my head with his front tires,” she said.

Hescox says the assault didn’t stop there. She says Shane then ran her over again, this time crushing her ribs. Courtney says he got out of the car, picked her up and started yelling at her.

“He said ‘you need to get the ef out of here,” she said. “He picked me up and it sounded like popcorn.”

That sound was Courtney’s broken bones. Covered in blood, alone and unable to see, she dialed the last call on her phone, her best friend Jennifer.

“You could see the tire mark across her chest,” said Jen. “She was bloody. I called 911.”

Courtney was rushed to the hospital. She has 11 broken ribs, a partially collapsed lung, fractures in her arms and legs, and cuts on her head, hands and lips. She’s expected to have a lengthy recovery.

Niagara County Sheriff’s Deputies say Shane Hescox is on the run, and has outstanding warrants. Investigators tell 7 Eyewitness News he has a lengthy criminal past, including an arrest for animal cruelty in 2016.

Investigators say his truck was recovered in Rochester Monday night, but Hescox is still nowhere to be found.

Courtney says she’s sharing her story in hopes Shane is caught.

For those suffering from domestic violence help is available. The Family Justice Center of Erie County has a 24-hour crisis hotline at 716-862-HELP.
