CORFU, N.Y. (WKBW) — A mail carrier in Corfu has been charged for acting as a money mule for internet scammers, allegedly sending thousands of dollars to Africa.

55-year-old Julie Keller has been charged by criminal complaint with mail fraud by the Western District for the United States Attorney's Office.

Keller allegedly engaged as a money mule for various internet based scams, accepting and re-directing thousands of dollars to Africa from 2014 to August 2020.

If convicted, Keller faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both.a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both.
