BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Ever wonder about the environmental quality of your neighborhood, or what outdoor activities are happening in your area? The New York Department of Environmental Conservation wants to help.

The DEC created an interactive map for people all across the state of New York to get information on everything from air quality and waste facilities to fishing areas and fire towers.

"DEC created this platform to make information about New York's environment accessible to everyone," says DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos.

Now you're able to access various public documents and data on environmental qualiy and outdoor areas, as well as the opportunity to choose what you want to see with more than 50 sortable layers.

The DEC has two regional offices in Western New York, one in Buffalo, and one in Allegany.
