BUFFALO, N.Y. — Sergeant Phillip Yockey will receive medals in honor of his service and have his name added to the Buffalo Naval Park "Wall of Honor."

Yockey earned these medals over 50 years ago, for his 10 years of service with the United States Army. During his service, SGT Yockey was exposed to Agent Orange, an herbicide that was sprayed to remove vegetation that provided enemy cover during the Vietnam War. As a result, Yockey lost both of his legs. He had to move out of his beloved Black Rock neighborhood to a veteran healthcare home where he can be cared for.

Monday at 10am, Congressman Higgins will present the military medals to Phillip Yockey. His name will then be added to the "Wall of Honor" at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval Park.
