BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Emma Candella a junior at Mount St. Mary Academy has sent 135 joey pouches to Australia following the recent wildfires.

"I just really love animals," Candella said.

And, with the help of her schoolmates, Emma crafted the pouches in just two weeks. But, 115 of those pouches, she did on her own.

“Time flew by as I was making them,” said Emma.

The pouches will be sent by the Relief Crafters of America, and Emma hopes to send more pouches and additional relief aid in the near future.

"I was going to make sweaters, dog toys, blankets for all the stranded dogs and cats in Australia because there’s a lot of that too," she said.
