BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The University at Buffalo announced Tuesday it signed Lance Leipold to a new five-year contract worth $465,000 a year.
The 2018 Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year led the Bulls football team to a school-record 10 wins in 2018. Buffalo posted a program-best 7-1 record last season in conference play and appeared in the MAC Championship game for the second time in school history.
Leipold ranks fourth in school history in coaching victories with 23 wins in four seasons. He also has more wins at the FBS level than any coach in program history.
Leipold's new contract runs through the 2023 season.
