BUSTI, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Busti couple are facing a list of charges, including endangering the welfare of a child, after police bust a "large scale" marijuana growing operation in the Southern Tier.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies, Lakewood Busti Police and the Southern Tier Regional Task Force had been investigating a home on Big Tree Road in Busti as it was suspected that marijuana was grown and distributed from that residence.
On Monday, police executed a search warrant at the home and discovered over 180 marijuana plants growing on the property along with marijuana packaging material and paraphernalia, according to officers. Thomas Maher, 36, and Barbara Lobb, 30, were both taken into custody and charged with 2 counts each of endangering the welfare of a child, criminally using drug paraphernalia in the 2nd, and unlawfully growing the plant known as cannabis with out a license.
Both Maher and Lobb were taken to the County jail pending arraignment.
