November 29, 2019.

It was the day after Thanksgiving.

Mary Certo, of Lancaster, a glass half full, so much to be thankful for kind of person, experienced a medical emergency, and during the medical emergency fell and hit her head. As a result, Certo suffered a massive head trauma.

Her loved ones said thankfully she was surrounded by family and friends who reacted quickly, and called for immediate medical attention.

Hundreds would soon join a private Facebook group dubbed “Certo Strong” dedicated to tracking Certo’s progress.

She spent the next six months in the hospital, re-learning many things we take for granted.

And, on May 15, 2020, 167 days later, Certo was able to come home.

So, her friends and family made sure she had a happy homecoming. Dozens of cars were packed with people to show their support for Certo.

“She is a force of nature. She is a wonderful woman who has taught me everything I know about real estate and how to be a good person. She's just wonderful,” Certo’s friend, Gigi Jankowski said.

Certo's family said the pandemic made the situation even more stressful. Restricted visitation made it difficult for them to see her during her recovery.
