BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — It's BYOD- bring your own dog to the Yelling Goat Restaurant in Lancaster. The newly renovated patio hosted the "Fund the Fence" fundraiser to raise money for a dog park in Como Lake Park.

"There's a lot of dog parks in Erie County but not a lot of dog parks in this area," Jaclyn Mckewan, President of Lancaster Unleashed said. McKewan and others decided to create Lancaster Unleashed, a non-profit to raise money to create a dog park in the town.

The organization teamed up with Erie County Parks to put together the plans for a 1.5 acre property with a fence, and other attractions for dogs. The organization has raised $18,000 and needs to raise $25,000 for insurance, the fence and gates to have the dog park complete.

If you would like to donate to the park, visit their website.

The project will take another year or two to complete. Lancaster dog owners say they are excited to have a park so they do not have to travel all the way to Knox Farm or Buffalo.

Today also marked the re-opening of the patio for the Yelling Goat Restaurant. You can BYOD all summer long on the patio.
