CLARENCE, N.Y. (WKBW) — State police say on Valentine's Day, troopers arrested 40-year-old Amy Moeller and charged her with DWI.

According to New York State Police, Moeller was driving north on Transit Road in Clarence, without her tail lights or head lights on. She was stopped and police say she failed field sobriety tests. Moeller had a BAC of .13%, police say.

7 Eyewitness News has learned Moeller is the principal of the Hillview Elementary School in the Lancaster Central School District.

School board president Patrick Uhteg says this event is "unfortunate" and a personnel issue. He says Moeller will be placed on administrative leave while an investigation is ongoing.

According to See Through New York, Moeller is salaried at $96,600 for the 2018-2019 school year.

The Lancaster Central School District send the following statement:

"We are aware of the pending charges against one of the district’s employees. We are in the process of doing a thorough investigation. When completed, we will determine the appropriate steps to be taken. As this is an ongoing legal and personnel matter, I am unable to comment any further at this time."
