NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — Officials in Niagara Falls confirm a kayaker has drowned in Hyde Park Lake Thursday night.
The Niagara Falls Fire Department and the Niagara County Dive Team were on scene searching for the male kayaker after overturning. It was reported the individual was seen in distress and a rescue attempt was made before disappearing.
The dive team was able to recover the kayaker's body, according to officials.
The investigation is ongoing.
