BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo General Hospital and Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital will begin FDA-approved experimental therapy options on eligible COVID-19 patients.

Kaleida Health says these treatments include a clinical trial of the arthritis medication, sarilumab; along with convalescent plasma infusions for critically-ill patients as a way of introducing antibodies from those who have fully recovered from COVID-19.

Some of the treatments will include the use of an anti-viral medication called Remdesivir.

Kaleida says there are 37 confirmed cases of coronavirus at Buffalo General Hospital, including 19 in the ICU, and 39 confirmed cases of coronavirus at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital with 15 people in the ICU.
