JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WKBW) — Police in Jamestown are warning parents of a suspicious person they say is approaching children.

Police say around 8:00 a.m., a student of Washington Middle School was walking to school near Hotchkiss St and Dearing Ave when they say a navy blue SUV with white stripes drove up to the student. Police say the white male driver asked if the student would help finding his lost puppy. According to police, the student ran away and went to the middle school to report what happened.

Police are looking for video surveillance in that area and are asking anyone who may have video systems who may have captured this vehicle as it drove through the area to contact them directly.
