JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WKBW) — Jamestown Police are boosting their ranks with a new police dog with a special mission.
Tuesday, the department announced that a yellow Labrador Retriever named 'Hope' was joining the force. Hope's job won't be tracking down suspects or locating contraband, it will be the JPD's first comfort dog.
The lab will be on-hand to help victims of traumatic events and help provide comfort and support to those victims while police investigate.
