BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A former Clymer school teacher will spend four and a half years behind bars and five years under supervised release for being in possession of child pornography.

Authorities began investigating 61-year-old Scott Aikens in June of 2018 after receiving a tip that a user was active on a Thai-based child pornography website. Investigators traced the user's name, "EJD," to Aikens.

State police and Homeland Security Investigations searched Aikens residence in Clymer-- where authorities say he admitted to viewing child pornography on his computer. The computer contained more than 680 videos and 22 images of child pornography-- including pictures and footage of minors less than 12 years old, police say.

Aikens was a school teacher at Clymer Central School District at the time of his arrest. He no longer works in the district.
