BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Instacart shoppers are planning a strike.

Shoppers, including ones in Western New York, say they’ll stop taking orders on November 3rd-5th. There's around 600 Instacart shoppers in Western New York. Ariana Diaz is one. She says this all comes down to money.

Diaz says she has been getting less and less money, even though she's doing the same amount of work. She says a recent change to the way customers can tip, means shoppers make even less.

“We used to get a 10% suggested tip. They’ve lowered that to 5% and put in a 5% service charge, which is what they say is going to raise our wages. But it doesn't,” said Diaz.

Instacart is aware of the planned strike. They released this statement to 7 Eyewitness News:

"We take the feedback of the shopper community very seriously and remain committed to listening to and using that feedback to improve their experience."

This planned work stoppage is happening in cities, nationwide.
