HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) — Crews are responding to a house explosion that happened Monday night on the 5800 block of West Lane in the Town of Hamburg.
Hamburg Police received multiple reports of a house explosion at about 8:45 p.m. Monday.
'Catastrophic incident': House explosion in Hamburg
Upon arrival, officers located a victim. He was taken to ECMC, where his condition is unknown.
Captain John Baker of the Town of Hamburg Police believes there may be additional victims who have not yet been located.
"This was a very catastrophic incident," Captain Baker said.
Captain Baker said this will be a "lengthy" investigation. People are encouraged to avoid the area while several units work to extinguish the fire.
