ELLICOTTVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) — Holiday Valley has joined the fight against cancer announcing a $5,000 donation to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute to join the "Herd of Hope."

A 65-pound, four-foot aluminum buffalo sculpture was delivered Friday and came complete with a set of skis.

The buffalo took a ride on the Mardi Gras slope and has gone to its permanent home on the plaza deck outside the main lodge.

“Holiday Valley has supported Roswell through a 12 year sponsorship of Team Holiday Valley in the Ride for Roswell and our second year of sponsoring the team in the Empire State Ride, a 7 day bicycle trip of 540 plus miles across New York State. We really believe in the work that Roswell is doing and want to do our part to help find a cure for cancer," said Dennis Eshbaugh, President of Holiday Valley.

Funds raised through the Herd of Hope campaign go towards cancer research at Roswell Park.
