BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Following the announced closure of Hotel Henry, 7 Eyewitness News is learning more about plans that had been in the works to roll out an agreement between the Hilton hotel group and the hotel.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Hotel Henry is listed on Hilton's website.

According to the website, the hotel will open under the Hilton name in April 2021. They are not currently accepting reservations.

After 7 Eyewitness News first reported on the agreement on Tuesday night, Hilton has since clarified that its agreement with Hotel Henry dates back to 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic struck. Representatives had been waiting to roll out the agreement until spring of this year. Now that Hotel Henry has closed, it's unclear whether Hilton plans to reopen the hotel.

In a statement from the Richardson Olmsted campus, a representative told 7 Eyewitness News Hilton's deal was with Hotel Henry, not with the campus on which the hotel sat. "With the Hotel ending operations at the Richardson, the agreement with Hilton does not transfer to the Richardson or a future operator," the statement continues.

Any future operator of the hotel space at Richardson Olmsted would need to renegotiate a deal to use the Hilton name.
