High Wind Watch in place starting late Thursday evening for a majority of Western New York

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Tie-down or bring in the Halloween decorations. It could be a gusty Halloween night.

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for Niagara, Orleans, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming and Chautauqua Counties starting Thursday Evening.

The winds will begin to pick up in intensity late Thursday night into early Friday morning. Wind gusts will be strong enough to knock down trees and create power outages in isolated areas across Western New York.

The High Wind Watch goes from Thursday evening until Friday evening.
