NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WKBW) — Authorities in Niagara County are reportedly trying to track down a loose offender, described as armed and violent.

The Buffalo News reported Saturday that Tyrell Handley, 20, of Niagara Falls cut off his court-mandated ankle monitor, which was found Thursday night behind a residence in the Falls, and may have fled the area. The News also reported police believe Handley has a gun.

The News reported Handley was arrested on multiple charges in October after a woman was pushed out of a vehicle during a police chase.

On Sunday, 7 Eyewitness News reached out to Niagara Falls police about the situation since no release or mugshot was issued by the city police department, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, or the Niagara County Probation Department.

Police told 7 Eyewitness News that the newsroom would have to contact detectives. A follow-up e-mail to police was not returned at the time this article was written.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Handley is wanted for a probation violation and is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-800-336-0102 or 1-877-WANTED2.
