BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — Local firefighters are getting back to work with some hands on training that had been missing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This so called flashover training took place Saturday at the Depew Fire Department.

It begins with some classroom training on how fire behaves.

Then it's outside to a special simulator that teaches some important survival skills.

Just over 100 firefighters from departments across the region are taking part in this two days of training this weekend.
