TOWN OF HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) — An apparent murder-suicide in the Town of Hamburg is being investigated by police after they received a phone call from the alleged murderer, early Wednesday morning.
According to police, the Hamburg police dispatch got a call around 3:45 a.m. from a man who identified himself as “Kevin" who stated that he had shot his girlfriend and was going to shoot himself.
Officers went to the Loring Avenue address that the call came from and knocked on the door. That's when they heard a single gunshot from inside the home.
Police entered the house and discovered the body of a woman on the kitchen floor. The body of a man was found in a bedroom with a self-inflicted shotgun wound. Both people were pronounced dead on the scene.
The man, who police say shot himself and the victim, has been identified as Kevin Kopper, 31. The victim has been identified as Danielle Morse, 25. According to neighbors, the pair were a couple and had lived at the home for 3 months.
The incident is still under investigation, pending autopsies.
Morse's family tells 7 Eyewitness News that funeral services have been set for Morse on Sunday, January 20th, from 1pm to 4pm at Sieck, Mast and Leslie Funeral Home in West Seneca.
